It was an absolutely awesome weekend at London Dragway at the Mopar Muscle Dragfest. Hats off and a huge thank you to Craig Boone and the entire crew for providing a fantastic facility and running a first class event.
So very thankful for the opportunity to spend the weekend at the track, seeing some awesome rides, talking face to face with old friends, like even, Frito himself, Joe Teuton (OG Hemi Band of Brothers) and many others as well as meeting Facebook friends, new folks, tuning a couple cars, discussing and giving many, many folks input on their G3 Hemi powered current and future projects. Michael Judd and family took a break from their 4 year old granddaughter’s birthday party preparations to stop by and of course, hard working Jena was hard at it all event. She even found us a cool tiny home on a farm, next to goats and horses, where after each long day at the track, not too far away, we slept like a log.
Of course, watching Mark Dudley, Jr. go rounds (he might have crossed the 300 pass mark, or close, with his Race Spec 700+) and once again he marched his way into the final 3 of the tough No Box class on Sunday, where he lost by 0.001.
Mike Shaefer unfortunately couldn’t make it to the event as hoped, but he did go make big progress, closer to home, putting his beautiful Race Spec 1,300+ powered ‘68 Dart deep in the 8.2s @ 167. We know if we’d seen it, there was an eyeball to eyeball grin in that helmet crossing the line with another record for the car.
Overall, another great few days at Blackbird Performance , helping make G3 Hemi powered dreams come true.
