Strong Debut for the Briggs Racing Team’s G3 Hemi Dirt Late Model

Another great weekend at the track for the Briggs Racing Team and their G3 Hemi powered #5 dirt late model, and just so awesome to be working with the Briggs Racing Team (father, sons and grandson in attendance) on their dirt late model program.
So very proud of them. In a new and different design chassis than they’ve ever run; with a very different engine and it’s significantly different horsepower and torque characteristics; on a track they’d never been to; and with the typical new car issues and gremlins. With all that, they were very competitive in this first shot at it with no testing before this weekend. And there were several, touring and competitive teams / cars to run against.
In the feature, with 14 cars on the track, they started in the fourth row, eighth car, they worked their way to the front, ran in 5th for most of the 20 laps, but with 4 laps to go, consistently holding off all those behind, a miss heard communication from race control, and they went high, to let the the guy running 6th by, dropped to 6th and just could not get back the place by the checkered flag, taking 6th in their first ever start with the G3 Hemi powered #5.
So much more to come from this great family race team and their G3 Hemi powered dream. Thankful to be a small part of it.
From an engine development standpoint, with 45+ minutes of run time at each event, a bunch of it wide open (850+ HP), that’s like 300-400 1/4 mile passes, each event 😊. A whole lot to learn and to help us make more reliable, affordable G3 Hemi power and parts for everywhere and hopefully in more circle track / road race stuff to come.
