The Tanner Special: 1,500+ HP FuelTech G3 Hemi Dialed In at BES

Another great couple days working with the crew at BES Racing Engjnes.
Our focus the last couple days was getting Tanner Ellingsen’s 1,500+ HP Whipple Supercharged G3 back on the dyno as he requested we configure and run it on his Fueltech 550 and 16 individual smart coils (a setup we ran long ago, on Blackbird until it was outlawed by NHRA). Of course, we wanted to make it work with the stock cam and crank sensor if possible. So basically, with the Fueltech control and keeping 16 plugs, but hotter, make the ‘Tanner Special’, as we called it, even more special.
It took some beg, borrowing and stealing of harnesses, connectors, wiring tweaks, etc. and then some starter settings from Fueltech, none of which initially worked without some learning and changes, but hey, when we got there, it ran very well again. Thank goodness for Richie and his 3D closet of parts, connectors, harnesses, conditioners and knowledge / experience. That combined with lots of other efforts, insights and on the 2nd pull with Fueltech, it ran just as it should.
We are a Fueltech dealer, and it’s clear, it has a ton of capability and features to really like.
Mostly, we are anxious to get this thing to Tanner and Washington, in his beautiful Dart, and out putting a smile on his, and our faces, having helped, a Fueltech controlled , G3 Hemi powered dream come true.
Headed back to the Skunkworks. Another big thanks to BES for letting us get these two engjnes on the dyno and sorted.
