45 Years in the Making: Don Turk’s Gen 3 Hemi-Powered Dodge Mirada
Some projects are about horsepower. Some are about solving problems, pushing boundaries and building something nobody else thought to build.
And then there are projects like this one.
For Geoff and his brother Don Turk, this story started more than 45 years ago — long before Blackbird Performance existed, before the Gen 3 Hemi existed, and certainly before either of them could have imagined that one day they'd be building a stick-shifted, Gen 3 Hemi-powered Dodge Mirada together.

It’s a story about two brothers, a lifelong love of racing, more than a little Pontiac-versus-Mopar rivalry, and a journey that somehow came full circle through one very unlikely Dodge.
When Bobby Bennett of Competition Plus heard the story behind Don's Mirada project, he saw what we see every time we look at this car: there’s a whole lot more here than the sum of its parts.
Bobby has a gift for telling the stories behind the cars and the people who build them, and we couldn't have told this one better ourselves.
