Built for the Drag Strip: Cecil Stanford’s Methanol-Fueled Race Spec 1,000+ G3 HEMI

Mission Accomplished: Another Race Spec 1,000+ engine built, tested and tuned, ready to go power the G3 Hemi dreams of Cecil Stanford and son.

Thanks to the always awesome team at BES Racing Engines and especially Richie, my G3 Hemi dyno testing, developing and learning partner over the last 15+ years.

This Race Spec 1,000+ is another methanol-burning edition destined for Cecil Stanford and son’s early model Challenger. This Challenger is a great-looking and already proven race car, soon to be repowered with its methanol-burning, supercharged Hemi.

Having done this once, this time armed with bigger injectors and a bigger pulley to take boost away, we dialed in a long, over 1,000+ HP power curve to optimize and expedite this race Challenger down the drag strip.

Keaton White once again dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s on this fine-running engine before I hauled it off to prove its worth.

We can’t wait to see this G3 Hemi-powered dream out doing what it does best, accelerating at wide open.
