What size G3 Hemi would you build to swap into a Chevrolet?
How about a 409!
In this case a 409 CID G3 Hemi with a 3.0l Whipple Supercharger capable of 1,700+ HP that ought to put the Chevrolet Cavalier where it’s going deep in the mid to low 6s, and perhaps, tickling the high 3s in the 1/8th…if Mike Schaefer and Jack Henderson are so inclined to turn it up when they are out going rounds, with Mike or Scott behind the wheel.
Today, it was a few easy check out pulls with 3 degrees timing out, 700 RPM from the redline, less pulley and running rich, we'll call it the very long life, bracket tune.
We worked with the awesome team at BES Racing Engines, Michael Wiener, Ben the Builder, and the whole crew, who rapidly helped reconfigure this engine into a Top Sportsman player.
We are so pumped and blessed to be working with Mike, Jack and Scott on this new project, a heck of a follow up to the Race Spec 1,300+ in Mike’s ‘68 Dart.
