A thousand miles an hour, with our hair on fire!

It’s been a long and productive week at Blackbird Performance, hard at it across a number of fronts since we got home from North Carolina.
We made several improvements to Team Underdawg Racing Drag Pak, starting with a much enhanced throttle pedal system, totally eliminating the worst of all design choices anywhere, set screws. Raymond Nash will be able to keep it wide open, all the way.
Jena Turk jumping in and making it happen, as usual, relocating the apparel factory to a spare bedroom and beginning the setup of our AN fittings and hose area. If you live in the Bowling Green, KY area, you know these crucial parts to any build are hard to come by locally. We will be stocking a growing array of Phenix, majority USA made, product. Call us if you need anything.
Then, another great move as we got our resident Wizard of Wiring, Carey Bales, just about setup. He’s not only a hardcore driver, many, many record setting / breaking race car owner, he’s also been wiring race cars and awesome street car projects for decades. He’ll be getting started helping us make some much needed improvements, redo of BlackbirdX and transforming the Demon’s wiring into, a much simpler, lighter and more robust integrated system. Again, if you have a project that needs wiring, give us a call.
Then on to some exciting new product development with our star engineer, Eric Cunningham, as we fit up a 3D printed mockup of what stands to be a dramatically improved, ultra rugged and higher performing tensioner for these blown G3 configurations. Stay tuned, pretty sure it’s going to be awesome AND more affordable than other competitive tensioners.
And last, but a long way from least, Keaton Vester and I stayed on the white, last of the Drag Paks ever built, and ended our night on something we’ve long been waiting for, when we got the fire lit and made noise. Coming to a track soon and then off to put some hurt on unsuspecting COPOs.
Another busy week ahead, next week getting several of these bad rides ready to test and further improve … a thousand miles an hour, with our hair on fire, just how we like it.
