Another awesome day working with the Band of Hemi Brothers / Sisters at BES Racing Engines to deliver some power for others G3 Hemi powered dreams.
First, a carbureted Race Spec 600+ pump gas engine, shipped out to a great family of racers in New Mexico. This engine to go in a very cool ‘68 Barracuda for Fred Jaramillo’s kids to go out and start racing along with Fred and his Top Dragster. More to come on this project as Fred gets the anxiously awaited G3 in.
Second, a not exactly Race Spec configuration 426 NA G3 Hemi, but one that uses many of the proven Blackbird Performance building blocks. This one also to be run on pump gas but with some added power from the bigger displacement than a pump gas 600+ and with EFI.
Even better, Steve Bright and his buddies Ray and Jeff, were able to come see it run, and help load it in their truck to take it home to South Carolina, where a totally cool, ‘67 Barracuda, with a 5 speed and a clutch, awaits it’s arrival. Soon to be installed so his daughter Taylor, the driver, can go out and start dropping the clutch and rowing gears in her now drag and drive machine.
And lastly, the big bullet, a Race Spec 1,650+ engine, one that’s been 212+ MPH in the 6.4s, in the Rocky Mountain Rocket Top Dragster of Kevin Burnett. The goal is to turn it up a bit, get it back in the car and see if we can help Kevin and his wife, at the upcoming US Nationals get in the tough Top Dragster field, where the price of admission will likely be a good 6.2 @ 220+ run. We will soon see as we plan to give the rock solid Callies / Energy Aluminum G3 block and Magnum crank a harder workout, like well north of 1,700
Just a fantastic day, working with great people, and all of us, doing our best to make their G3 Hemi powered dreams come true. Stay tuned as tomorrow stands to be another day of learning, excitement and hopefully, delivering the needed power.
