Another Dream Delivered: Race Spec 1,450+ for Mike Sterling
It’s a good day when we can make a racer smile, and today Mike Sterling and his wife Laura, both racers, showed up to watch his Race Spec 1,450+ make some checkout pulls before taking it home to the north tomorrow.
These essentially 1,500 HP engines are an awesome robust choice for a lot of applications but of all the places they’ve gone, we really can’t wait to see this one in their beautiful ‘68 Barracuda.
It should be a pretty good step up over the tuned up Hellcat in the car now, that’s already pretty darn quick.
Of course Ben, Brett and Richie make what we do look easy and on the third pull, after I made a few tweaks to the tune, looked at data, we took some pulley away, then we landed right about where Mike wanted it at 1,450+.
Another G3 Hemi powered dream that this engine should make even better.
BTW, not sure, but those new Direct Connection valve covers might be worth 10 HP, at least that’s what Ben predicted :)
