BBP Supercharger Belt Tensioner Helping Break Records!
A HUGE congratulations to Tom Bailey, Dave Schroeder, the Turks and the whole team for the 235 and 238 MPH runs, that were a part of their record breaking performance on the salt at Bonneville!!!!
If you are scratching your head wondering why we might be commenting on those awesome record runs in a Camaro, powered by two different great engines, neither of which was a G3 Hemi … well, they cleverly employed a Blackbird Performance Supercharger Belt Tensioner to drive their Vortech superchargers and while we now have many of these tensioners that have gone 200+ MPH, the 238 MPH for our tensioner sets a new bar. In another strange twist, they did it in Keith and Tonya Turk’s car. I’m not sure I’m related but I’d like to be, to these Bonneville legends.
Tom had precisely employed another one of our Supercharger Belt Tensioners in his Drag N Drive Durango and shared with us what a big improvement it had made, so he and the team also put it to work on the salt.
Maybe next year, we can help him use a G3 Hemi to go with the tensioner
