Blackbird X Takes Center Stage at PRI Show Debut

The Blackbird X Dodge Challenger made its public debut at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Show, marking a major milestone for NHRA’s new Factory X class. As the first car built specifically for the category, Blackbird X represents the next evolution of factory-based drag racing, combining lighter weight, more aggressive chassis design, and a manual transmission to elevate both performance and driver involvement.

Powered by a supercharged 354 cubic-inch HEMI combination and built with extensive use of lightweight materials, the platform is designed to push into the six-second range at speeds exceeding 200 mph. The debut signaled the beginning of a new era—and once again positioned Geoff Turk and the Blackbird program at the forefront of innovation in the sport.

This was more than just a reveal—it was the start of a whole new direction and another opportunity to push the limits of what’s possible.
