Blackbird X Unveiled: Pioneering NHRA’s New Factory X Class
At the 2022 Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Show, Geoff Turk unveiled the first Dodge Challenger built for NHRA’s new Factory X category, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Blackbird program. Building on his history of pushing boundaries in factory-based drag racing, Turk set out to once again lead the charge in an emerging class designed to take performance to the next level.
The Factory X platform introduces lighter, more aggressive combinations with manual transmissions and increased performance potential, creating an entirely new challenge for racers. With the Blackbird X Challenger, Turk positioned himself at the forefront of the class—continuing a pattern of innovation, development, and pushing the limits of modern Hemi performance.
We’ve always been drawn to what’s new, challenging, and a little ahead of its time—this was the start of the next push forward.
