Happy 94th Birthday Don Garlits! Undoubtedly one of, if not, Drag Racing’s greatest racer/innovator and he’s still at it.
What an inspiration for keeping the pedal down and not pulling the chute early.
Of the many blessings of working in the performance industry, to have gotten the chance to get to know him a bit, and try to help him for a brief time, that blessing is right at the top of list.
I still pinch myself every once in while to see if me giving him input before he made a pass…did that really happen…it did. What a great example of a life being well lived.
