Making Progress!
Another fine engjne from Ben Hoitink and the team at BES Racing Engines.
A pleasure to work with the incomparable Rich Kolb testing and refining it, getting it ready for Marc Heidings. We can’t wait to get it back in the car and see it rip down Beechbend Dragway at the upcoming NMCA event there.
On the home shop front, Keaton Vester has Top Dawg nestled in its new home between the fenders of Team Underdawg Racing Drag Pak, Doug Marino is back at work making some chassis mods, using some custom, high quality parts, produced and delivered super fast by our friends CGS Machine & Tool, Inc.
And of course Jena Turk is now busy shipping the many, many orders for the new BlackbirdX shirts, that feature, first to 200, in the sixes, Alex Austin Laughlin, Laughlin Farm (where half the profit goes) AND most importantly Carl, the cool llama.
A huge thanks to them all and to Larry Williams and Modern Designs on the awesome design work and then getting our T-shirts done NOW.
On a sad note, we had to break down and buy the team a new golf cart / push vehicle as our well worn, 20 some years of service 2004 model needs a break. We are now way to dependent on it to have it go down on us at race (like it did for a bit in Joliet) and we do have enough other stuff to work on. Saylors Golf Carts, Inc. helped us pick the right one, reconfigured and sold it to us at a very fair price … all in about the 30 minutes we had before they closed the other night. Great people with lots to chose from.
P.S. all that AND two lunches at Skyline, that and working with this growing and capable team involved in Blackbird Performance, just doesn’t get much better, blessed.
