More Engine Testing
Another great couple days with the team
at BES Racing Engines where Michael Wiener and I stretched the legs and Whipple Superchargers fed lungs of a couple fine running Hemis. The numbers tell the story that once again Brett VonderMeulen , Ben Hoitink and the rest of the team did their normal terrific work.
First up, another engine to complement the already strong Junkyard Dawg currently in Team Underdawg Racing Drag Pak, this one affectionately known as Leroy Brown…cause it’s meaner than a ……., or it’s official name, Top Dawg.
Then on to another Modern Street HEMI Shootout Series Drag Pak Spec Shootout engine. Which came out right on top of the very healthy torque and power curve of it’s prior siblings / clones. 1,400+ HP, ready to go a whole season of 7s for half the price, a tenth of the work and all the fun.
And on the way out, got another front cover, belt drive, remote oil pump kit ready to ship.
But when I got back to the home shop, a ton more impressive work well done and underway as Keaton Vester continues to organize and improve or growing shop / efforts, the Wizard of Wiring, Carey Bales transforms BlackbirdX wiring with some light fab work along with it and another huge addition, Doug Marino jumps in on the heavy fab work to help us make some much needed ballast weight relocation and overall reduction to BlackbirdX.
We will all be hard at getting these cars ready for some testing ahead of the upcoming NHRA event at Route 66, where TUR Drag Pak and BlackbirdX will be competing.
