More Hemi Awesomeness
My first street vehicle was a truck to tow the ‘69 Charger race car I had bought first, to the track.
My second, and first street CAR, a hastily purchased 318 powered ‘73 Barracuda at a great price. The engine, I later found, was actually a ‘66 273. It later became our second race car.
Today, many decades later, we celebrate the arrival of a mind blowingly awesome ‘70 ‘cuda, that we are honored to help make fly.
It is just a fantastic piece powered by, you guessed it, a Whipple Supercharged G3 Hemi. So very thankful that DJ Scheid and his talented driver, Jeff Keen (a guy who RU’d at the Million) are trusting us to take its first outings consistent, full on bracket tune, 4.8s (@3,100 Lbs) to the promised land of sub 4.5s. They even brought a 420 to play with if this 392 won’t get it done.
It’s days like this, working with guys like these, that make this whole adventure with the band of Hemi brothers / sisters, helping make G3 Hemi powered dreams come true, exactly like this one, so, so rewarding.
Stay tuned, we need to get this thing tuned up and on the track, with Jeff, doing what he does so well and DJ smiling when the boards light up with that sub 4.5 run.
But, where might one run a 3,100 lb, mostly all real original steel, one tire wider than two Factory Showdown tires, G3 Hemi powered beauty with what looks like an awesome chassis, running below mid 4s ? Slow it down, run 4.70 index ? Or is there a heads up class somewhere for that ?
