We are blessed to have the pleasure to work on a lot of great rides, but this one is so cool and unique!!!
As a young guy, Keaton Vester has been around and driven a lot, but it’s pretty safe to say it’s his first time behind the wheel of a 1976 AMC Hornet, powered by our beloved supercharged G3 Hemi … AND IT’S A STICK !!! In fact the engine started life in a Hellcat.
We are honored that Brad Brunner would trust us to help him finish up and get running what he has poured just a ton of excellent work into over the last couple years. We can’t wait to get this future drag n drive terror on the road / track.
This is another example of the small and connected world of hard core supercharged G3 Hemi freaks. When we went to look at this project, we discovered this engine began life in none other than OG Band of Hemi Brothers member, Eric Cunningham ‘s Hellcat and actually spent time on the dyno at our old employer, Holley.
Looking forward to hearing it run again in this awesome build….and with this inspiration, and some of Brad’s deep insights/connections drawn from his decades of AMC car driving, building and racing, there may just be more G3 Hemi in AMC magic in our future…don’t tell our accountants but with his help we may have already found a couple solid ‘68-‘69 AMXs that might be the perfect beginning of another new race car project
