It’s always a great day working on engine development with the super team BES Racing Engines. It’s not always an easy day, typically full of challenges and learning, but not a straight line up. Today was different, as from the first pull to the end of day, it started great and progressively just got better.
The mission today was to begin the development of our Race Spec NA series of G3 Hemi engines, that can be either carbureted or EFI. The first configuration was meant to be the lowest cost, easy to run and maintain, 550+ HP engine. Well, it beat that on the first pull. So… as a result, introducing our 600+ HP Race Spec engine

We will sell the engine complete, carb to pan, including the ignition system, ready to hook up your fuel lines and battery power and ground…no laptop, no tuning, 600+ HP for many seasons of hardcore bracket racing. All of it, being run on pump gas 93 octane fuel with a very, very safe tune up. Complete, for less than $15k with all new, parts and components.
But, perhaps more importantly, for the home gamers out there, we will openly share the recipe and can provide the specific parts that make it work, including the Blackbird Performance Products Mach 1 Camshaft we are developing and testing as part of the work, yeah, and it’s only $399, the Afterburner Ignition control, for $749, of course the Cast Valve Covers, for $399, the VVT Timing Set, $549 and in the future, a Cast Race / Swap front cover, and more.
We will further explore and torture test our ignition system tomorrow and then begin work on what was to be the next step up, the Race Spec 650+ … now Race Spec 700+, then continue to the 800+ and onto the 900+ configurations, the Mach 2, Mach 3 cams, and coming soon, our Cast Aluminum Cylinder Heads.
The power these engines are capable of, how rubust they are, and how cost effective ($/HP) is something that this has shocked and reminded us all of, even those of us who have been leaning hard on them for over a decade.
