Test Session at US 42 Dragway
It was a good day testing and while the 33 second video below shows you the highlights, it does leave out a lot of the really important and really meaningful things.
Things like Keaton Vester and Keith West diving into the car and clutch, covered in sweat and black dust, turning it around again and again, so we could write another page of the book, ‘Understanding BlackbirdX’
Or the blow your mind cool, golf car push bar mount that the fantastic fabricator, Doug Marino comes over to the shop and whips out while you are at the track helping a racer sort his ride out…and then installs it on the team’s new golf cart, so it’s ready to load with the race cars.
Or the track owners / operators, firstly, keeping the track and timing equipment all working very, very well, then actually bringing in pizza for all us racers / crew at lunch, and later, when we mentioned, due to my poor planning, we neither had food nor a suitable vehicle to go get some, loans us their track utility truck.
Or a driver, who loves to drive, Alex Austin Laughlin, shouting in the radio with joy and excitement as he excessively wheelies down the track, banging gears.
Of course alll this and we get our own SO NPK private showing as they, like us, are out here sorting through some things.
Yes indeed, a good, long day at the track and Team Underdawg Racing showing up tomorrow to join the fun.
